The Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50

E B McDonald Ltd ranks number 21 on the Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50 index, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing companies in New Zealand. 

Rankings are based on three-year percentage revenue growth from 1998/99 to 2000/01. E B McDonald Ltd’s CEO Greg Wansink credits innovation, customer relationships and team effort with the company’s 130 percent revenue growth over the past three years. He says it has been a busy period with a new systems and the upskilling of the team at EB’s to handle the growth .

2001 was the first year that the Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50 has been held in New Zealand, although globally Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu has been operating similar programmes in various countries for several years.

The Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50 celebrates the innovation and growth of small, medium and large corporations. 

The overall winner receives airfares and accommodation to attend the global forum for winners of similar Deloitte promotions in other countries. The forum focuses on the unique business issues facing executives of fast-growing enterprises, offers informative break-out sessions, presentations by top industry experts and provides an opportunity to establish new business relationships as well as network with peers from around the globe. 

More than 50% of participants to these global forums of previous years have felt that the stimulating discussions have jump-started their thinking while the other half felt that the knowledge they gained and the networking opportunities were the key benefits.

Fast 50 Selection and Qualifications

To make the Fast 50, companies around New Zealand were invited to submit their financial records. The competition was open to private and public companies that met the following criteria: 
Have operating revenues of at least $100,000 in 1997/98 and at least $250,000 in 2000/01.
Have been in business for a minimum of three years.
Have New Zealand registered operations.
